‘Ōhi‘a Lani—the “Heavenly ‘Ōhi‘a”—is a 174-acre transformation of soil and environment. Located in the fertile mauka regions of Waimea, this site was once a vibrant forest before it was cleared for cattle pasture decades ago. Today, we are inviting the forest back. With 80–100 inches of rainfall annually, we are establishing a dense, multi-layered canopy of native ‘ōhi‘a and koa to protect the watershed. Early plantings are already beginning to self-regenerate, a sign that the land is reclaiming its natural rhythm and strength.
