What inspired you to join Terraformation Hawaiʻi?
"I have always been concerned about natural ecosystems and the effects humanity has on the climate. My concern translated into studying environmental science at University of Hawaiʻi and I began to look for work in restoration. Through previous endeavors, I found Terraformation."
What expertise do you bring to Terraformation Hawaiʻi?
"I have diverse experience in mechanical repair, construction, farming, irrigation, and property management. In my work, I have found that there are many things that have to be working properly for everyone else to be able to do their work.
In my role, I try to make work easier and more efficient for the team. I’ve worked a variety of roles from digging holes and pulling weeds to helping design and build solar-powered seed banks. I have also worked alongside field workers and engineers and accountants to make sure all facets of the team are operating smoothly."
How do you give back to the land?
"I always try to leave a place in better condition than I found it. Even with all the challenges, I can always feel good that we are trying to make the world a better place."
