Q: What inspired you to join Terraformation?

"Landscape conservation has always been my professional passion. I've been working in Hawaiʻi conservation since 2003, with great past experiences doing dryland forest restoration projects.

Recently my work has focused on surveying and monitoring Hawaiʻi forests statewide, most often documenting the decline of our native 'ōhi'a forests. When I learned about Terraformation, it was the perfect opportunity to balance all the death by co-creating new forests."

Q: Please explain the subject matter expertise/magic you bring to the Internal Forestry Operations (IFO) team.

"I am the data and mapping wizard for our IFO team. I use GIS software to help plan projects, create data collection systems, and share the wonderful work we are doing. I'm also the pilot that flies the drone that makes beautiful imagery of our sites."

Q: If you had the chance to share one message about native reforestation or climate change solutions with a wide audience, what would you say?

"This planet is what we all have in common and share in every single moment. Its health is our health. As I look around, I see you and I can always take better care of ourselves, each other, and our surroundings. The beautiful thing is that every day is a new opportunity to make choices for a healthy planet lifestyle."
